What Is Mineral Makeup?

You might have heard this entire boom about mineral makeup. It’s growing so much popularity as creative baby shower party gifts! But what really is mineral makeup? And why is it that most dermatologists and other skin experts recommend its use?
Basically, it’s makeup that uses natural minerals from the earth. It doesn’t use the harsh chemicals like fragrances, dyes and preservatives that are in most conventional makeup. What it does contain are minerals such as mica, zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.
This would mean that it is kinder and friendlier to the skin so it reduces irritation due to the skin sensitivity caused by synthetic substances. Better talk to your dermatologist if you should switch to mineral makeup.
